Job Description - Junior Estimate

**Title of post: Junior Estimator**
**Hours of work: Full Time**

**Location: 53a Eden Road, Knockloughrim, Magherafelt, BT45 8PL**
**Reports to: Senior Estimator**

**Job Summary**

The job holder will play a key role in controlling and managing the estimating and financial aspects of company projects, ensuring efficiency and cost control. The job holder will be responsible for the preparation and submission of tender documents, cost management administration, and general duties within the estimating department.

**Key Duties/Responsibilities**

The job holder will:
1. Prepare tender documents, including creation and completion of bills of quantities in conjunction with the architect/client requirements.

2. Identifying potential tender clarifications. Maintain up to date understanding of Tender, reviewing and amending the tender based on feedback from the client clarifications.

3. Working closely with Tender Planner assisting them with information to produce tender programme.

4. Formulating BoQ using Procore and Conquest Estimating Packages for Senior Estimator to review and populate, undertaking take-off as required by Senior Estimator.

5. Input data to cost software to code works packages to allow tender enquiries to be issued

6. Compiling, issuing and assessing sub-contractor and material enquiries, advising the Senior
Estimator on best value.

7. Contribute to updating a rates library to improve current pricing methods with more accurate & measurable costs.

8. Assist with completion of tender and Pre-Qualification Questionnaire documentation.

9. Maintain an up to date knowledge of market rates, keeping up to date with current and new techniques.

10. Visiting sites as required to assess tender requirements and understand best practice/lessons learned from successful tenders.

Job Description - Junior Estimate

11. Contribute to the review of all tenders by senior team prior to submission, including risk reviews. Assisting Senior Estimator in addressing outcomes of tender reviews prior to submission.

12. Assist Senior Estimator in producing a tender pack for handover to Operations, once tenders have been awarded.

13. Ensure supply chain information is kept up to date.
14. Any other ad hoc duties deemed necessary to fulfil the duties of the job

**DESIRABLE CRITERIA**

**Qualifications & Experience**

1. Batchelor’s degree in associated discipline: Quantity Surveying, Construction Management,
Building Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering
