**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday - 9.00am to 5.00pm (with half an hour unpaid lunch break)
**Salary Range**: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum plus benefits
**Environmental Lead Job Purpose: **

To provide leadership across the business in the environmental discipline at a daily and strategic level. The technical expert within the business for the environment, supporting the business on regulatory and legal matters and liaising with the Environment Agency as appropriate. Monitoring delivery of the environmental programme to deliver improvement projects and initiatives across the business ensuring delivery to specified quality and time through engagement with managers and technical experts. Reporting against key company metrics and working with matrix style project teams.
**Environmental Lead duties to include: **
- Overseeing delivery and taking a leadership role in the Environmental Programme, monitoring, and setting up projects and initiatives with key stakeholders, to deliver against the Microngreen Strategic Objective.
- Establish a business wider understanding of environmental regulatory, legal, and permitting requirements through new business standards and processes, including a process to manage risk and future scoping of upcoming requirements.
- Develop and embed new reporting processes for waste management, packaging and carbon emissions to ensure companywide visibility of actuals and targets alongside a plan to net zero carbon. This will include scope 1 and 2 emissions with a long-term plan for reducing scope 3 emissions.
- Positively engage through healthy tension with the regulator, customers and internal and external stakeholders on regulatory, legal and permitting issues, building strong working relationships.
- Advise on environmental issues from a position of authority within the business.
- Proactively establish relationships with external stakeholders by building an environmental network, partnering with stakeholders to deliver projects and initiatives.
- Direct impact on capital improvement scheme costs

**Environmental Lead Requirements: **

Knowledge and Skills
- Degree / Post-graduate level education in a relevant scientific discipline
- Scientific Chartership through a relevant awarding body desirable (or working toward).
- Significant experience in carbon reporting, environmental regulation and waste management.
- Experience of leadership, change management & project management
- Developed communication and influencing skills - written and verbal
- Competent with the use of complex IT systems and standard office software.
- Full clean UK/EU driving licence
