Summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated Speech and Language Therapist who is committed to raising the standards for Communication, Language and Literacy across school. The person appointed will be expected to work with the Senior Leadership Team and the communication language and literacy lead in a collaborative way, in meeting the Communication related needs of pupils, and to establish positive, supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and the wider community, and by contributing ideas and strategies.
They will assist with the planning, delivery and Implementation of Speech and Language Plans. They would be expected to run interventions and provide training to staff in order to upskill the workforce. We are looking for someone who is confident, resilient, and approachable.
You will be responsible for joint work with teaching staff, the upskilling and training of support staff, implementing classroom-based interventions and support strategies, as well as assessment, diagnosis and intervention for individual children.

Essential Qualifications

Recognised degree level qualification in Speech and Language Therapy

Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Essential Experience

Experience of working in schools alongside teachers, parents and other professionals delivering intervention and advice.

Experience working with pre-intentional and early intentional communicators

An understanding of good practice SLCN and ASD interventions and environments delivering universal approaches as well as specialist and targeted services.

Knowledge and experience of a range of formal and informal assessments.

Desirable Experience

An understanding of sensory processing and regulation. - To be trained in Elklan. - Use of Board maker
