We are currently looking for an experienced Junior Buyer as 12-month maternity cover, who wants a great opportunity to join our dynamic brand. Focusing on both everyday and glam Nightwear, you should come from a buying background, ideally within this field, and within a fast-paced retail environment. As a key member of the buying team, you must be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, creativity, and a real passion for the brand and product area.

**What will the role include?**
- Understanding of our customer profile, product range & competitors
- Develop comprehensive understanding of the brand and keep up to date with current trends & competitor activity.
- Have an analytical and forward-thinking mind in order to introduce new products in line with our current products and trends.
- Responsible for strategic planning and negotiating prices to ensure costs are in line with the budget and maximise profit.
- Manage and develop strong relationships with current and potential suppliers.
- Supervise, train and develop the junior team. Monitoring performance against their training programme, highlighting areas for improvement.
- Work closely with your merchandising team on strategic planning as well as day-to-day running of the department.
- Lead meetings with merchandiser, presenting in weekly trade, sign off meetings and brand-wide communications.
- Manage the development critical path, ensuring necessary lead times are met to meet required shipment dates.
- Drive fit and design in fit meetings alongside Technologist.
- Liaise and build ranges with in-house and freelance designers, ensuring commerciality and option plan is met.
- Create store VM guidelines in line with usual brand standards and VM manager guidance.

- The ability to prioritise, balance workload and be adaptable to change.
- A huge passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for the Brand, its product and wider market trends.
- Experience of own-buy, end-to-end product development, with and without the assistance of Designers.
- A champion for teamwork and team personal development.
- Experience of running own department is essential.
