**GENERAL SUMMARY**

The Material Expeditor will be required to perform expediting operations to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. They will be responsible for Management of the Machining Cell, focusing on “On time delivery of Machining activities and processes” and “Development of the Cell / Process in line with Operational and Management plans”.

**Key responsibilities of the role will include**:

- Expedite goods and services to ensure on-time delivery to specified locations.
- Assist with the selection of suppliers prior to placing Purchase Order.
- Data input of draft purchase orders into SAP.
- Ensuring that official acknowledgements to Purchase Orders are received for all direct spend orders.
- Communicate progress of ordered goods and services to internal customers.
- Maintain a working file of expediting and related documents to record expediting activities.
- Liaise with Purchase Ledger Department to ensure timely and correct payment of supplier invoices.
- Handle Vendor queries, correspondence and feedback of replies and actions to resolve potential vendor-user conflicts.
- Work to Department KPI’s and in accordance with documented procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Good basic level of Education.
- Additional vocational qualifications and/or HNC in Business Admin or Purchasing preferred but not essential.
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management.
- Experience in analysis, preparation and reporting of purchase spend.
- Good potential for development in other areas of the business.
- Proactive and motivated team worker.
- High standards of communication, report writing and negotiating skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Planning, organisational and analytical skills.
- Enthusiastic and flexible.
- Integrity.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
