**The Role**

Almac are currently recruiting for the position of Buyer. This role can be based at our headquarters in Craigavon or at our Arran Chemical Company site in Athlone.

The Procurement department is responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of all materials and services for all divisions of Almac Sciences globally, including the Arran Chemical Company and Almac Discovery. The key to the role is to provide the best possible service to the business by effectively managing the supply chains in which we operate. The post holder will be responsible for developing efficient, cost-effective ways of working whilst developing professional relationships with internal departments, external suppliers and where necessary with our clients. They will also be responsible for development of and maintenance of a database of suppliers and their key expertise or product line(s). The completion of the businesses daily orders/requisitions is a vital part of the day-to-day role.

**Key Requirements**

Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK/ROI OR possess a valid work permit that will allow you to take up full time, employment in the UK/ROI

To be successful in this position you will need to have 5 GCSE (A*-C) / Junior Certificate (or equivalent) and 2 A Levels (A-E) / Leaving Certificate (or equivalent). You will also have previous experience working in a procurement department along with previous experience using a computerised purchasing / inventory system to generate, place and expedite orders.

Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous of you had CIPS qualification at Level 4, Degree (or equivalent) level qualification, and previous experience in a procurement role within the pharmaceutical industry.
