**Your New Job Title: Cantonese speaking KYC Supervisor (Banking)**

**The Skills You'll Need: Fluent English and Cantonese, with KYC/ AML / CDD experience in retail banking**

**Summary**:
Responsible for assisting Retail Department to perform customer due diligence in compliance with the internal/regulatory procedure/guidelines; checking know-your-customer ("KYC") / account opening documents and review KYC report; and implementing accountamendment and closure in compliance with the internal/regulatory procedure/guidelines.

**What You'll be Doing Each Day**:
Process
- To control account opening process / KYC review in compliance with the internal/ regulatory procedure/guidelines efficiently and effectively.
- To check the accuracy and quality of information provided.
- To complete the set task and meet deadline.
- To monitor and review the progress and performance of the team.
- To contribute to the implementation and controls for daily processes and assist with the update of procedures.
- To collect, analyze, verify and keep proper record of KYC documentation, identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners ("UBOs") and Politically Exposed Persons ("PEPs").
- To identify and/or review any irregularity / exception found in the process of account opening / KYC review and escalate to management on a timely basis.
- To mitigate integrity risks for the bank by contributing to the risk assessment and control of business relationships based on applicable regulations against money laundering and terrorist financing, financial sanctions, and embargoes.
- To comply with and follow up on applicable regulatory requirements in the prevention of financial crimes.
- To communicate independently and professionally with external and internal clients and stakeholders on all KYC related matters.
- To maintain a database for tracking of KYC review case completions and prepare / review relevant control reports for submission to the management.

People
- To work independently on end-to-end KYC due diligence processes, providing prompt advice / assistance to relevant businesses.
- To provide regular training sessions, support and guidance relating to AML/KYC procedures and requirement to subordinates.
- To collaborate with other teams to achieve mutual goals.
- To evaluate performance of the team and provide managers with information on appraisals.
- To ensure that views, opinions and ideas of people in other department and teams are sought and valued.

Customer
- To set service standards for the team and ensure customers are satisfied with the standards.
- To oversee the procedures of the branch and review the guideline issued by regulatory authorities.
- To review operation procedures and guidelines in order to provide all department feedback on the changes promptly.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity.
- Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work.

**The Skills You'll Need to Succeed**:
Essential skills:

- Proficient in spoken and written English and Cantonese.
- University degree
- Hands-on KYC experience in the retail banking industry.
- Have sufficient knowledge of the Bank products, services and policies as well as the UK JMLSG.
- Excellent verbal and written skills required, must communicate well with customers and other employees in a respectful manner at all times.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situation using sound judgement and common sense.
- Familiar with suspicious transaction/ sanctions monitoring systems.
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Work and PowerPoint).
- Good communication, interpersonal, customer service skills.
- Strong analytical skills and strong risk awareness.

Desirable skills as an advantage:

- CISI Combating Financial Crime qualification.
- Mandarin language skills
