SENIOR BOOK KEEPER

**Key Duties / Responsibilities**
- Bookkeeping
- day to day recording of transactions in purchase and sales ledger
- Take control of purchase and sales ledgers and assist with month-end processes
- Managing credit control
- Preparing the creditors mid month and monthly payment run ready for approval.
- Handling sales invoices, receipts, income, and payments
- Reconciling bank statements and the general ledger, completing journals, VAT returns
- Contribute to the smooth running of the accounts department reporting to a Finance Director
- Assist with paperwork filing
- Assist the Directors with any ad-hoc tasks, management accounts etc

**Skills and qualifications required**:

- You will need to have a thorough understanding and experience of accounting and bookkeeping practices using a computerised system
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with customers, colleagues, and managers
- Enjoy working within a friendly supportive environment, but also the confidence to work independently when required
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain and improve business and client relationships
- Excellent organisational and administration skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must be organised & self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly numerate & accurate
- Able to multitask manage own workload
- Maintain professionalism and utmost confidentiality at all times

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 2 years (preferred)
- bookkeeping: 2 years (preferred)
