The Ecommerce stream builds the customer-facing shopping experience that makes up part of Ocado Smart Platform, powering the online grocery businesses of Ocado's global retail partners.

The Findability team helps shoppers to find what they're looking for, providing an easy, personalised experience when searching or browsing. We are a cross-functional team that consists of talented web front end, Android, iOS, and backend engineers, a QA engineer, Team Lead and Product Manager. We also work closely with UX and Product Analysts.

We are looking for a backend-focused engineer who can build great expertise in the product domain and develop innovative technical solutions to real world problems faced by shoppers. Their great collaboration skills accentuate the benefits of working in a cross-functional team and their strong communication skills allow clear explanations of technical topics and effective knowledge sharing.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- **Contribute **towards technical decisions in your team.

- **Support** your team to deliver, contributing effectively to team continuous improvement.
- **Responsible** for your personal delivery towards team goals, managing and prioritising your workload effectively.
- Contribute to technical discovery, sharing constructive ideas and critique.
- Participate in design activities and **capture learning** effectively
- Familiarity with continuous delivery concepts
- Deliver business value that addresses today's requirements, contributing to solving the related technical problems.
- Participate in the full product delivery lifecycle.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- Experience with Java, or similar object oriented programming languages
- Experience with RESTful services and APIs
- An understanding of automated testing and testing best practises
- Strong collaboration skills that will allow you to work effectively alongside a cross-functional team
- A wish to create the best end user experience across our web platform
- Experience working with AWS
- Worked with microservices architectures
- Worked in an agile environment
- A test-driven approach to development
