The podiatrist will join our team on a part-time basis and will primarily be based in our Manchester City Centre clinics, however, will also attend home visits in the community. Senior podiatrists will provide regular supervision and training to junior members of staff, to provide guidance and develop your skills, which includes taking part in our competency programme.

JOB SUMMARY

Main responsibilities:

- Provide routine podiatry treatments to clients with a range of skin and nail conditions such as verruca, fungal nails, corns, ingrown nails.
- Perform nail surgery procedures.
- Provide biomechanical, musculoskeletal assessments and gait analyses.
- Prescribe off the shelf and bespoke orthotics.
- Provide PACT antifungal therapy (training provided).
- Stock management.
- Instrument sterilisation.
- Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of client consultations.
- Attend home and work visits.
- Be able to work as an autonomous practitioner.
- Act as a champion for the service.
- To help develop the podiatry service within Chiropody.co.uk.
- Managing enquiries.
- Maintain social media accounts.
- Write blog posts and website content.
- Attend CPD events.
- Take an active part in your personal development plan and competency programme.
- Liaise with other disciplines.
- Arrange referrals where appropriate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General responsibilities:

- To manage all tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Set high standards of self and others, assume responsibility and accountability for completion of tasks on behalf of the team.
- Monitor and update the diary and bookings system where necessary.
- Update clinical notes following each appointment.
- Actively participate in selected quality management activities.
- Assist with the coordination of everyday services.
- To demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills during the management of own workload and to be able to adapt to an unpredictable work pattern on a daily basis.

Clinical responsibility:

- To provide podiatric care for clients with a range of podiatric related issues.
- To provide comprehensive assessment reports.
- To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure the effectiveness of the intervention.
- To discuss services and treatment options to potential clients.
- To ensure that clients are involved in the planning and prioritisation of their treatment plans.
- To adapt the practice to for each individual patient, including due regard for cultural, social, and linguistic differences in addition to any disabilities.
- To demonstrate high level of clinical effectiveness by use of the evidence-based practice.
- To commit to developing skills beyond one’s own professional training.
