- MED1956An opportunity has arisen for a 12-month, full-time Master of Research (MRes) studentship within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Nottingham Medical School part-funded by HC International SA

**to study the effects of a very low-calorie diet on cardiometabolic health markers in healthy humans**

Start Date: 01 October 2023

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated postgraduate student interested in carrying out cutting-edge biomedical research in collaboration with a leading industrial health wellness partner. This 1-year studentship is available to work under the supervision of Prof. Kostas Tsintzas at the School of Life Sciences, University of Nottingham, UK; and Dr George Gaitanos at Chenot | HC International SA, Weggis, Switzerland.

The MRes student will benefit from working in a highly regarded laboratory in UK acquiring a range of human _in vivo_ and _ex vivo_ research skills. The student is expected to spend considerable time (~2 months) in the research laboratories of Chenot | HC International SA, Switzerland, where the human intervention will take place.

Due to funding restrictions, this studentship is open to applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only. The studentship will cover all university fees and costs associated with the industrial secondment (but not maintenance stipend in UK).
