Founded in 1903, Newport Golf Club is regarded as one of the best parkland courses in Wales. A traditional yet progressive members’ golf club Newport offers a warm welcome to prospective new members and visitors alike.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our greenkeeping team and help in the maintenance and preparation of the golf course, while working towards a career in the golf industry.

The successful applicant will report to the Course Manager. Their role will require the safe operation of all equipment work practices. The capacity to work outdoors in all seasonal conditions.

Duties will include: Maintaining high quality fine turf areas. Course setup, such as changing holes. General maintenance of a golf course including raking bunkers, strimming tasks and divotting. Operating and maintaining different types of mowing equipment, both hand and ride on, as well as other machinery. Involvement in golf course construction, such as tees and bunkers.

Schedule: Monday to Friday. 42.5 Hour Week3 Hours weekend availabilityOvertime available on occasions.
