Warehouse Operative

The Warehouse Operative will work independently and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to completing their work striving to maintain the business performance targets.

The role will involve working with the Housekeeping Operations Manager to handle consumable and laundry deliveries and pick-ups to and from the warehouse on a daily basis, as well as ensuring all outgoing linen bags are picked and packed accurately.

The fast paced and energised environment relies on organisation and efficiency, and it is important to ensure that you have a moderate level of fitness to enable you to comfortably carry out your tasks.

Picking and packing products can involve a substantial amount of manual handling including bending, stretching, stooping, stepping, reaching and lifting. Having a good range of mobility is important to ensure you can work safely within health and safety regulations without placing undue strain on your body.

The role is part time with weekend work, working 5 days across the 7 days.

**To be considered for this role you MUST**:

- Be able to work accurately and methodically.
- Good literacy & numeracy skills.
- Able to accurately complete paperwork and count stock items.
- Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks.
- Be reliable and dependable.
- Have good attention to detail
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Be able to plan, organise and prioritise tasks.
- Have great problem solving skills, finding solutions to delivery and storage issues.
- Have excellent communication skills to ensure that the work is done promptly and effectively without compromising guest satisfaction.
- A good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Flexible to work weekends.
- Have previous experience as a warehouse operative is desirable.
- Have a full driving licence and proficient in driving a Luton van.

This will include, but not limited to the following duties:

- Assisting with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on to racks, and shelves, storing goods appropriately.
- Collecting items from throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for delivery or pickup according to a schedule.
- Performing warehouse inventory controls.
- Move stock around by hand.
- Load goods for dispatch.
- Keep accurate stock records.
- Carry out stock counts as and when required.
- Keep paperwork up to date.
- Ensure that all lifting and maneuvering of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.
- Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner.
- Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.
- Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value.
