Personal Care Assistant

I am a 7 year old boy and I live in Jedburgh with my family. I am looking for a fun and entertaining person to support me after school and at weekends, for up to 15 hours per week. I have a learning disability and although I am non-verbal, I can make my needs and wishes known. I am flexible with the days and times you support me, as long as it’s not when I’m at school I am hoping to save some hours to use over the school holidays, so I can spend longer periods doing the things I love.

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Support me to do the activities I each enjoy, both within and out of the home.
- Build a positive relationship with me and my family, so you are confident to support me when we are doing things on our own.
- Help me to stay safe at all times.

**Personal Attributes**
- You will be caring and patient with me so we get to know each other.
- You will be honest, trustworthy and reliable.
- You will respect our privacy and confidentiality.
- You will be fun and energetic, and willing to explore new opportunities with me.
- You will have a good sense of humour and be able to use your initiative.

**Hours of Work**
- I have up to 15 hours per week, to use throughout the week (around school), though some time will be saved to use during holidays.
- We can discuss days and specific times, as these can be flexible.
- It would be helpful if you can spend more times with me during school holidays, and this will be pre-arranged with you nearer each school break.

**The Terms**
- £12.00 per hour.
- Social mileage will be paid at 45p per mile.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave, calculated on a pro-rata basis.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 15 per week

Work Location: In person
