This is an exciting time to join one of the largest and most vibrant statistics communities in the UK. We currently hold more EPSRC funding than any other UK Statistics group and comprise of 25 academic staff, 18 research associates and over 40 research students spread across research clusters in Bayesian and Computational Statistics, Time Series and Changepoints, Extreme Value Statistics, Spatial and Spatio-temporal Statistics, Biostatistics, Social Statistics, and Statistical AI (Artificial Intelligence). Lancaster is one of the UK’s top departments in Mathematics and Statistics, ranked 7th overall in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework and 1st for the impact of its research.
