Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Technologist

**Job Purpose and Mission**

This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the implementation and ongoing sustainability of product safety & quality for all products going into our store environment such as food beverages, furniture, flooring, merchandise, equipment and paper goods. This will involve looking at specifications, safety reviews, testing management, supplier quality assurance and record keeping. The role supports other safety, quality & regulatory professionals across multiple product types. The individual will have a passion for implementing high safety & quality requirements within commercial practicality constraints.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities**
- Reviews and manages the completeness and accuracy of specifications data within the specification system according to the correct timelines. Highlights any inaccuracies and works with suppliers to ensure all data is accurate
- Effectively communicates status updates on specification progress, highlighting any issues with timings and works collaboratively with other functions to ensure products are launched on time with complete and accurate data
- Support the FSQR Managers when needed and support the Starbucks FSQR global compliance processes.
- Maintains the Supplier Approval database ensuring timely auditing and audit corrective actions follow-up.
- Summarises data, identifies concerns and provides feedback to key stakeholders.
- Maintains quality and product information databases and critical files.
- Provides accurate product information to internal partners to respond to consumer, media and other external organisation inquiries.
- Supports investigation and troubleshooting of quality and product performance issues arising from partners, customers, Starbucks contract manufacturers, retail stores and regulators.
- Supports implementation of corrective actions and procedure improvements to resolve issues.
- Utilises company standards and requirements, National and EU regulations and guidelines, and the input of licensed partner businesses to support availability of product information and certifications needed to meet local market performance and legal requirements.
- Maintains a process to remain aware of external developments in performance and regulatory requirements for areas of product responsibility.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Previous experience and knowledge of specifications; key elements of specifications, attention to detail, knowledge and use of systems used to manage specification data through the product life-cycle
- Experience of working cross functionally with other departments within FMCG
- Implementing quality requirements within commercial practicality constraints.
- Compilation of records, reports, customer feedback as well as operational and quality metrics.
- Experience and knowledge of the documentation requirements of quality, food safety and quality management systems such as: ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, BRC Standards.
- Ability to interface with multiple organizational levels and personality types. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and project management capability.
- Plans, develops, monitors and verifies quality system programs and processes.
- Manufacturer, supplier, store safety & quality systems auditing.
- Understanding of effective approach for managing safety & quality in a retail environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence internal customers and external service providers.
- Ability to priorities and multitask, be detail orientated and to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to collect data, organize, analyse and capture conclusions.
