The Business Change Team is made up of Product Managers, Product Owners and Business Analysts who collaborate with all areas of the London Market business unit to design and build market leading capabilities across our people, processes, and systems. The role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to join our innovative London Market Claims value stream, reporting to the London Market Claims Product Manager and working alongside a cross functional in-house squad of Business Analysts, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Testers, a Scrum Master, and external suppliers to deliver the objectives and key results outlined in the Claims Product Roadmap and annual Game Plan.

As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in translating the Digital Claims vision into a set of tangible deliverables required to build out our Claims Workbench, enabling our team to make quicker, more informed decisions to reduce the cost of claims and provide a better service to our customers.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritise, deliver, and manage the adoption of features under the Claims Workbench, acting as the voice of the customers to translate business requirements into actionable development tasks which deliver maximum value through proactive management of the product backlog, development scope, user adoption and tracking of value/benefits realisation.

Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, own, and proactively manage the product vision, roadmap and backlog, ensuring there is a steady flow of work for the delivery team aligned to the objectives of the Digital Claims vision.
- Conduct workshops and analysis to design and define delivery iterations, gather requirements, assess value, ensure work is prioritised and focused on delivering maximum value to our customers/the business.
- Capture requirements as increments of delivery and refine with the delivery team; ensure they are well thought through with clear acceptance criteria to ensure requirements are met.
- Be the first point of contact for the development team to answer questions, clarify requirements and clear user stories.
- Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring everyone understands the business value of the delivery increments and represent the needs of our customers on a day-to-day basis within the delivery team.
- Lead Agile events - stand ups, refinement, planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives and work with the Scrum Master to ensure that these are successful.
- Make informed decisions based on data, user insights, and business priorities.
- Provide feedback on the roadmap to the Product Manager, escalating risks, issues, and blockers raised by the delivery team and advising on actual vs. expected progress and any knock-on impact to the product roadmap.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the industry, market dynamics and emerging technologies.
- Develop, manage, and motivate a delivery team (in a matrix organisation) across internal and external teams, including third party suppliers.
- Build strong, productive relationships inside and outside of Hiscox to deliver effective solutions based on a strong understanding of the business drivers and benefits for each party.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively to keep them informed.
- Embed and manage the adoption of product features, tracking the realisation of business benefits/value.

Must haves
- Proven experience working on large, complex projects, programmes, or products with proven ability to deliver lasting value to stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working with Scrum or Kanban and experience working in Agile delivery teams, managing a backlog, and ensuring business value is prioritised, successfully delivered and embedded.
- Experience operating in a challenging organisational environment with a requirement to balance differing priorities and demands whilst ensuring that change management disciplines are maintained.
