BI Technical Manager - Power BI

Flex Working

Due to large growth and company wide investment my client, a leading name within the financial services world are currently recruiting a BI Technical Manager.

The BI Technical Manager is responsible for all reporting that is delivered across the organisation including casework, finance and HR. The majority of our reporting is provided using our Enterprise Data Warehouse.

In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that the gathering of requirements and development of reporting is achieved working in a collaborative way with key stakeholders so it can be delivered quickly, accurately and in an easy-to-use way.

You'll have excellent technical and communication skills as you'll need to lead by example to your team. It is vital you ensure that any solutions that are implemented or the way data is used are compliant, robust, and secure.

Key Tasks
- Working directly with your own team to lead, motivate and develop them in their contribution to the overall strategic goals.
- Leading & prioritising development work to support the business in delivering its objectives, the work needs to be delivered by deadline, to specification, and within budget if cost is a factor
- Managing the complexity of the workload not just for your team but also for staff supplied by an external offshore supplier who are working for the BI Team
- You will have experience working with business intelligence software, and have direct experience of the software development life cycle as well as excellent technical knowledge and practical knowledge of providing reporting
- Having demonstrable experience of managing a team including giving feedback, coaching, and developing people and teams to be the best they can
- Ability to plan and prioritise multiple pieces of work for all staff in a BI environment. This will include projects that are being delivered for the organisation
- Having a strong track record of identifying and implementing system and process improvements
- Leading system upgrades and enhancements in the BI environment
- Having strong knowledge of working on and supporting Power BI - including writing DAX, developing datasets and managing the Admin Portal
- Having strong data modelling skills
- Having excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - you'll be able to explain your ideas in an easy-to-understand way to all levels of the organisation
- Displaying excellent project management skills from end to end knowing exactly what needs to be achieved
