**About us**:
The Grape Variety was established in 2018 in Chipstead (a quiet village in leafy Surrey) located just 2 minutes from the train station. Our loyal customers are made up of local residents, dog walkers, families, commuters and those looking for something a bit different from the surrounding country pubs. We offer a cosy but buzzy atmosphere with regular wine tastings and private events, plus weekly pop up food events. In 2021 we expanded to Dorking where our sister bar sits on the busy high street and also offers a Coffee House from 9am. We are a bar that's open to everyone, dogs and kids included, with cosy corners and sunny window seats for our guests, and food served all day.

This role will be based at our Chipstead branch. **About the role**:
We're looking for someone to join our team 4 days a week (Wednesday-Saturday) between the hours of 3.30-11.30 (shifts will vary within these times).

Roles will include:

- Serving customers
- Offering advice (or seeking it from other staff) when asked
- Preparing and serving cheese & charcuterie boards
- Pouring and decanting wine
- Stock management
- Cleaning glasses, wine dispenser, fridges
- Receiving deliveries
- Preparing the bar before opening times and clearing down after closing
- Ensure customers have a great experience by bringing your wine knowledge and customer relationship skills to life

Wine knowledge would be ideal but a willing to learn is essential - all training will be given on the job, but we are looking for someone who wants to know more about wine and share their knowledge with customers. We bring wine to life for customers, and we'd love your enthusiasm for this too.

**About you**:
You’ll have 1-2 years bar work / waiting experience. You'll have confidence, 5* service and a willingness to muck in where needed within our growing FOH team. A warm, friendly personality is a must and you will be a team player within an intimate, friendly team. Wine knowledge a bonus but on the job training will be given so keenness to learn and expand your knowledge is essential.
