An opportunity has arisen for **Global Category strategy Manager** to join our Supply Chain team in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. It is a senior role and is expected to influence and support leadership in adjacent functions in their organisation evolution to be more technology road map and category focused to enable WAE to move from sourcing strategies to Category/Commodity strategies.

**Job role**:

- lead the development and implementation of the Category and Commodity team;
- support the creation of compliant policies and strategies,
- develop methods for effective supplier engagement and supplier performance management;
- create the tools for execution and control of sourcing in WAE and in partnership with FFI; and
- implement a Value/Cost Engineering team as a shared resource to all Categories/Commodities.
- support key stakeholders and senior leadership team in the evaluation of value chain design, including but not limited to Make-Buy, in-loading, M&A activities and will provide a focus on decarbonisation strategies.
- facilitate the development of WAE and FFI level strategies for effective risk management that ensure the continuous flow of materials and at controlled costs.
- work with the Market Leadership Teams Procurement Managers and the Global Supply Chain Logistics Manager to ensure that all sourcing projects are resourced and deliver sourcing solutions to meet specification, schedule and cost targets.

**You’ll have**:

- MCIPS or studying towards MCIPS qualification is desirable
- Ability to review and understand technical proposals, technical drawings and specifications;
- Excellent problem solving skills;
- Ability to work under own initiative and under pressure;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
- Strong analytical skills allied with an ability and commitment to meet deadlines;
- The ability to establish strong relationships internally and externally;
- The ability to lead a team in reacting quickly to immediate operational requirements;
- Supplier visits are part of the role so a clean driving license is essential;
- Microsoft Excel and office skills;
- Excellent attention to detail.
