An opportunity for a Production Scheduler to join a Global Business, that manufacture highly engineering products for the oil & gas, power generation and aerospace & defence markets.

Our client has already engaged in the delivery of a wide range of high-profile projects and on the back of this they have been recently awarded another major contract and thus are looking to add a Production Scheduler on a Permanent basis.

The Purpose of Estimator / Proposal Analyst, you will work closely with Site Director/ Production Management and/or Field Service Management and Sales team to determine the costs associated with completing the scope of work in a tender. You will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and the preparation of outgoing tenders/quotations, and preparation of Production Schedules and job packs following receipt of customer orders.

What is on offer to the Production Scheduler:

- £40,000 + Salary.

- 4 x annual basic salary Life Insurance
- 25 days holiday, increasing by 1 day after 5 years, 2 days after 8 years, to max of 28 days after 10 years.
- 5 weeks sick pay after 1 year service ( 3months to 1 year - 2 weeks).

Main tasks and responsibilities for the Production Scheduler include:

- Receive RFQ’s from various sources for the supply of spare parts and field service activities, direct from customers, Business Development Managers (BDM’s) and initiate the internal processes required to develop cost estimates and outgoing proposals.
- Assess the type of RFQ/tender, client, and closing date of tender to determine prioritization of all tenders.
- Analyse drawing, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, working in conjunction with Production and/or Field Service Management.
- Use Mathematical equations to determine the quantity of material and labour required to manufacture parts and/or provide the necessary services required, and when necessary, refer to previous projects of similar nature for cost comparison.
- Establish material requirements and, where bought-out parts are required, initiate a purchasing requisition for items for approval and purchasing.
- Maintain a production schedule, monitor progress against target dates, and liaise with the Production Management to meet target dates.

Key Experience Required of the Production Scheduler:

- Diploma/degree preferred in a Mechanical Engineering or similar, technical discipline.
- Practical engineering background, hands-on experience, preferably with a formal apprenticeship background and/or working with engineering industrial valves.
- Strong consideration given for previous experience in the Oil & Gas or similar industry, as well as in an Aftermarket role (spares/repairs/field service).
