Our client based in Radlett, a hospital for the vulnerable and mentally challenged individuals, are currently recruiting a Cook to work within the site. You will be working 5 shifts over 7 or 4 days on 4 days off so weekend availability is essential due to rota work. DBS check is also required which will be processed by us. Possible permanent opportunity after qualifying period of 12 weeks.

**Main duties will include**:

- Responsible for smooth operation of food preparation and service in the restaurant
- Supports Head Chef to prepare and cook food for staff and patients in hospitals.
- Preparing food using kitchen equipment such as mixers etc
- Manages inventory of supplies to support all stock controls protocols
- Stores food correctly to minimising waste
- Ensures rubbish is regularly removed from areas and in the correct waste streams

**Requirements**:

- Prepared to work in a chilled environment & willing to work in hot, noisy conditions
- Knowledgeable about allergens, and cultural needs including, for example, gluten free, low fat, soft food, halal and vegetarian
- Food safety level 3 preferred and must be available to undertake mandatory training to comply with food safety
- Standing mostly with manual handling & some bending / stretching / heavy lifting required

**Hours of Work and Shifts**:

- Start time 08:00am - 10 hours shift
- 4 days on and 3 days off on a running rota

**Pay Rates**:

- All hours worked Monday - Sunday are paid at £13.50 per hour PAYE
