Strathcarron Hospice is a Key provider of Specialist Palliative Care in Forth Valley, and is committed to providing physical, psychological, and spiritual comfort to any patient who has complex or challenging problems associated with any type of life-threatening illness, and also offering support to families.

Complementary Therapy is an integral part of the professional approach which aims to enable patients throughout their illness to achieve and maintain the highest possible quality of life. Some examples of the types of symptoms and problems for which the complementary therapist may be consulted are: pain, nausea, fatigue, constipation, anxiety, sleeplessness and emotional issues.

Our Complementary Therapy service currently uses relaxation techniques and the touch therapies of aromatherapy, massage and reflexology. This service is available to patients and also to carers.

Reporting to the Complementary Therapist Lead, we are looking for a motivated and committed therapist to work as part of this small team along with a good number of volunteer therapists. You should be an experienced therapist who can offer a variety of complementary therapies including aromatherapy and massage. You must also have experience of working with cancer or palliative care patients and be able to demonstrate evidence of continued professional development.
