As our new Defence Executive, you will be responsible for supporting the business’ team of lawyers dealing primarily with defended cases, preparing legal documentation, dealing with specific customer and third-party queries, understanding county court documentation and carrying out ad hoc legal projects.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Ensure all defence post and defences received via MCOL are noted appropriately on system and dealt with in a timely manner
- Deal with specific incoming defence post and respond appropriately within service level of one week
- To manage and take responsibility for own defence case files ensuring compliance with court orders and preparing cases for hearings
- To negotiate settlements and draft Tomlin Orders where appropriate
- To understand and draft legal documentation, understand the county court processes and be familiar with the relevant parts of the CPR court rules
- Correspond with defendants, the courts, solicitors' firms and other third parties
- Instruct LPC to act on our behalf at court hearings and prepare legal documentation for service
- Keep updated with the law and any changes via webinars and seminars
- Carry out legal research where required
- Provide assistance on projects where required
- Ensure 100% compliance
- Any other task deemed appropriate by the lawyers
- Look to continually improve own and team performance, putting forward improvement ideas in a constructive manner
- Assist with disputes received about customer’s accounts
- To meet KPI’s set in accordance with the 4C’s

**We are looking for someone with**:

- Experience of an administrative role in a process driven environment
- Experience of working in a legal environment
- Ability to manage own time and varying workloads
- Works independently with mínimal supervision
- Uses own initiative
- Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently
- Quality focused and able to maintain high levels of accuracy.
- Self-motivated
- Good communication skills - both written (Keyboard / Typing) and verbal
- Willingness to learn
