**The Role**

This QA position will encompass a breadth of different roles, and thus we're looking for someone who is familiar with an SME precision engineering environment and comfortable with the handling of metal components.

Inspection will be undertaken during first-off inspection, patrol inspection and 100% final inspection. The equipment includes vernier calipers, go/no-go gauges, CMMs, shadowgraphs, height/depth gauges, and surface roughness testers.

Reporting to the Managing Director and Production Manager, you will be working as part of our quality team.

This role is based in Crick, Northamptonshire, NN6 7SL.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform patrol, in-process and final inspections of precision turned and milled components, using various inspection tools and equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)s and micrometers
- Maintaining records and following procedures as per the Company’s ISO9001 quality system
- Review of technical drawings ensuring that components conform to the required specifications and dimensions
- Identify and document any non-conformances and work with the production team to resolve any issues
- Investigating customers NCRs
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and test results
- Be flexible in their duties/responsibilities and perform other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of their job.
- Undertake overtime as and when required
- Adhere to all Company’s policies and quality endeavours

**Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Training**
- At least 1 year of experience in inspection of precision machined components (ideally for F1, medical, and oil & gas industries)
- Proficiency in the use of inspection tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, shadowgraphs, optical measurement machines)
- Experience in setting and operating CNC machines (desired)
- Experience of working within an ISO9001 QMS environment
- Thorough understanding of engineering drawings
- Experience in root cause analysis and resolution
- Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, COSHH and environmental procedures

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic, desire to progress, and a conscientious attitude
- Strong fluency and coherency in English
