**AK Teaching **are recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and inclusive school dedicated to providing a nurturing learning environment for students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As the School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of the school facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to preserve the condition of the premises. Additionally, you will assist in monitoring security systems, addressing safety hazards, and coordinating repairs and maintenance with external vendors as needed. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and hygienic environment for students, staff, and visitors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces in classrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Empty trash bins, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of waste according to school policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of restrooms by restocking supplies, cleaning fixtures, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down facilities for school events, meetings, and activities.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, and painting walls.
- Monitor security systems and conduct regular inspections to identify safety hazards or maintenance issues.
- Report any damage, vandalism, or safety concerns to appropriate authorities and take necessary actions to address them.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members and administrators to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, as well as school policies and regulations at all times.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in maintenance roles, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies, as well as basic maintenance and repair skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures related to the handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Availability to work flexible hours.
