**1 x Fixed Term contract/secondment opportunity for 19 months**
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adult apprentice in Health & Social Care to join the Gloucestershire Criminal Justice Liaison & Diversion Service. This is for an 19-month period which if successful will result in the achievement of Adult Care Apprenticeship including a level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
Lived experience of criminal justice (this will need to be assessed and considered via the Trust’s pre-employment checks processes before employment can be confirmed.) Due to the nature of the role this post is suitable for over 18s.
Your salary will be £10,296.00 per year. After 12 months, the salary will increase to national minimum wage.
As an apprenticeship you will be required to support people with alcohol and/or illicit substance addictions, people struggling with their mental health, housing and other vulnerabilities. Part of your role will be to work alongside a range of partners within criminal justice and other agencies including housing and health and social care. You will make a real difference as you empower individuals to live rewarding and fulfilling lives.
This Level 2 qualification forms the first step in the career development pathway for those joining the Trust who are wishing to progress their career within healthcare
As an apprentice Liaison & Diversion Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Mental Health and Social Care Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not.
You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis.
This new apprenticeship scheme supports progression into employment, for individuals who have lived experience / expert by experience. This scheme has been initiated across Liaison & Diversion teams in the South of England, with a view to improving services, and widens the pool of people who might enter into employment in the NHS, by establishing a vocational pathway.
