Play Therapist

Job Overview:
**CYCA are seeking to appoint a play therapist 30 hours a week Monday to Friday.**

**£23,400 pa (£15 per hour ) until May 2025 ( likely to be extended until May 2026 or longer dependent on funding**)

Working as part of a therapeutic team, you will provide support to children aged 5 years to 11 years, referred from schools and GP services.

The therapist will work 1 to 1 at CYCA centre and in schools and provide robust monitoring and reporting to the senior managers and CEO.
- Educated to degree level and registered with an appropriate professional organisation relevant to therapy modality (e.g. UKCP,, ACP, BACP, BAPT etc
- Have demonstrable experience of providing outcomes-focused therapy to children, young people and their families.
- Have a good understanding of theories of child development and attachment.
- Have experience of organising and providing appropriate therapeutic play and other activities.
- Understanding of mental health in children including (ACE), attachment behaviour, trauma and the impact of abuse
- Be able to work non-judgmentally, recognising different and individual needs children may have.
- Understand and be committed to compliance in Safeguarding and Child Protection.
- Be able to build and develop supportive relationships with parents and their children whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Be able work with CYCA assessment trauma framework and willing to attend further training as deemed necessary for the post.

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
