Senior Buyer

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, the senior buyer will create and implement procurement and commercial strategies within their portfolio, either hardware or software.

Supporting the business, the senior buyer will provide procurement intelligence to assist in converting opportunities, seek incremental margin and proactively inform the wider business of any market changes.
- Mentor and coach, a team of buyers to enhance their professional development.
- Ensure adequate cover and succession planning to mitigate any potential exposures within the team.
- Identify, design, and implement new workflows and system improvements.
- Monitor performance of purchasing activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
- Discuss larger opportunities with internal/external stakeholders to gain an understanding of the demand and customer requirement. To ensure goods and services are in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.

About you
- Strong, proactive communication skills, able to gain commitment and buy-in to a common vision and clearly stated goals
- Commercial acumen providing the ability to make and justify decisions
- Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge with regards to products and processes
- Demonstrate experience in a senior buyer role or similar commercial role within the IT sector
- Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
