**YARD OPERATIVE - WASTE MANAGEMENT**

To control the quality of incoming loads, making sure they tip in a safe manner in the relevant bays and report any issues relating to contamination.

To remove as many unwanted materials as possible from the raw stock prior to its introduction to the Plant and make sure the yard is kept clean and tidy.

**Job Overview**:
- Be responsible for controlling the movement of lorries within the yard always maintaining a safe area.- Ensure all relevant SOP's and SWP's are adhered to at all times.- Ensure the quality of raw stockpiles are kept at optimum levels.- Ensure that the quality of the processed material is maintained from its storage in the bay until being loaded and leaving site.- Ensure the yard and weighbridge areas are always kept clean and tidy.- Deal with weighbridge issues & queries as and when required.- Assist with any plant breakdowns or engineering tasks as required within your capabilities.- Make sure you have the correct PPE for any given tasks, that it is in an appropriate condition, and it is being worn correctly.- Assist in the cleaning of the Plant.- Complete any paperwork required.- Accept and check deliveries of various parts and spares being delivered into the yard area and inform the relevant personnel, sign delivery notes and return them to the office.

Be responsible for inspecting all incoming loads prior to, during and after tipping.- Report any issues with incoming loads to the relevant personnel and complete any required paperwork.- Report any other issues that may come to your attention in the yard area such as H&S, quality, engineering, and damages etc, completing any T Cards or other paperwork that may be required.- Monitor all site waste skips on an ongoing basis and report any issues or exchanges required.

**Key skills**:
- A good knowledge of health and safety practices- Hold a First Aiders certificate- Hold a Fire Awareness certificate- Hold a current FLT license- Hold a loading shovel licence (preferable)- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing- Excellent attention to detail- Ability work manage multiple workloads simultaneously- Ability to work well under pressure.- Have a good understanding of the 5s culture
