Founded in 2004, Gateway has 18 years of experience supporting international students to study in the UK. With an established network of agents and, operations in both the UK and China, Gateway assists students and parents every step of the way on their educational journey.

With Gateway’s help, the student learns how to adapt to a different country, culture and education system and parents have the reassurance their child is fully supported whilst away from home.

**About the Role**

The Children’s Guardian will act as the principle contact for UK studying international students, helping them to adjust to life, regulations, and the education system by supporting them day to day.

**Main duties**
- To be the first point of contact for international students and their parents
- Help students to settle into their new life in the UK and fulfil their potential.
- Be in regular contact, not only with students but their school and parents.
- Aid with the arrangement of airport pickups and transportation between school and host family when required.
- Provide practical support with police, GP, bank and other relevant registrations.
- Operate ‘in Loco parentis’ to support students’ day to day and, at school events, guiding them through key decisions.
- Act as the responsible person providing feedback to parents on both education and welfare.
- Translate schools reports and parents evening feedback.
- Prioritise the care and welfare of students as the primary concern.
- Raise any safeguarding concerns immediately with the relevant personnel.

**Position requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant experience in the education industry focused on the UK market
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Mandarin and English
- A strong sense of commitment, team work and customer satisfaction
- Self-starter, target driven, creative and proactive
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and troubleshoot complex issues while working in a fast-paced environment
- Goof all-round computer proficiency
- A valid UK driving licence.

**Location**

Head office in Moulton Park, Northampton. This position does require travel to various independent schools located across the UK.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Northampton: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (preferred)

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Northampton
