**Vacancy - Kingsknowe Golf Club - Assistant Greenkeeper**

Originally designed by 1902 Open champion Alec Herd and later re-designed by James Braid, Kingsknowe Golf Club is a parkland course laid out over gently rolling hills lined with cherry trees that make it particularly inviting in the Spring. Set on the west side of Edinburgh, the course comprises of four distinct but challenging par threes, several challenging par 4’s and a single par 5. It offers a fair test of every aspect of a golfer's skills, whatever their ability level.
- Highly motivated and willing to learn and develop new skills
- Qualified to a minimum Level 2 in Sports Turf Greenkeeping
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the industry
- Capable of working on their own and as part of a team
- Confident on a wide range of machinery used for maintaining golf courses
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Spraying and chainsaw certificates desirable
- Hold a valid driving license
- Have a basic knowledge of irrigation systems
- Have good time management skills
- Willing to be flexible to support busy periods and major competitions

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi-rough
- Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating drop zones and hazards
- Switch and brush greens
- Identify and control weeds, pests, and diseases
- Renovate worn and damaged turf
- Prepare and maintain machinery
- Ensure clubhouse/amenity areas are maintained and well-presented
- Assist with long-term course development plan and course projects

**Schedule**
- 8-hour shift,39-hour week annualised hours
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend cover/availability will be required on a rotational basis (23 weekends a year)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £21,703.32-£24,287.32 per year
