We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Housekeeper for our inpatient area Firth 4 at the Northern General Hospital.

Housekeepers help to maintain an environment that is tidy, clean and welcoming for our patients, their families and visitors. They are an important member of the team who are key to the provision of a high quality service and positive patient experience. The housekeeper is a valued member of the nursing team providing a supporting role to the Senior Sister and the nursing staff.

The successful applicant must have a good basic education, good communication skills and possess good timekeeping / management skills. They must have experience of dealing with and working alongside a wide range of people and the ability to demonstrate practical and organisational skills.

Weekday hours are usually 7am-3pm.

Training and development is a high priority in this care group and your own personal development will be actively supported.

JOB PURPOSE

To work as part of the clinical team to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained. To work closely with the Matron and Sister/Charge Nurse in supporting the nursing staff in providing a high standard of care by performing duties as per job description.

We would like you to develop a sense of ownership for your ward and will be responsible for ordering and serving meals, monitoring of stock, running errands and ensuring the ward cleanliness and tidiness is of an excellent standard.

Your role will include working in close partnership with the ward team and with other member of the multi
- disciplinary team, for example therapist, domestics, ward assistants, porters and catering staff.
