As a member of our Complex Care Support Team, you will be passionate about making a difference to an individual’s life. The purpose of the role is to support our customers to achieve life goals and aspirations through social, emotional, physical and cultural requirements in a person centred way, as outlined in the customers individualised care plan, in a manner that is professional, positive and upholds the values of SCiA.

We are currently looking for compassionate female support workers to provide care to a young woman in her 30’s who currently lives in the Swaythling area.

Your primary purpose will be to support this individual to live a meaningful, fulfilled and happy life. You will empower her to identify her goals, pursue hobbies, support her health and wellbeing and be part of the local community, as she loves to go out and about and meet new people, and engage in different social activities including trampolining and Zumba. She also enjoys down time and like to chill with a range of sensory activities. Music is very important as she can just be herself and have a good dance and sing. She’ll definitely challenge you to get involved in singing along too.as this makes me smile

**You will succeed because**

You’re an experienced, empathetic and resilient Support Worker, deeply committed to assisting this individual with severe disabilities and associated health needs. You will be compassionate, observant, patient and confident in identifying non-verbal communications. You will be skilled in monitoring changes in mood and developing techniques to calm and de-escalate. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of complex needs including hoisting and PEJ feeding. You’re able to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families, and always adopt a person-centred approach.

You take pride in doing a great job and are happy assisting with cooking, domestic duties, personal care, attending appointments and social activities. You’re keen to develop your career through training, learning and gaining relevant qualifications.
