Job Introduction

As a** Macmillan Cancer - Information & Support Service Assistant **with HCRG Care Group,** **you’ll join a team who are focused on delivering high quality standards of service to all those affected by cancer, partner organisations and other stakeholders to really make our service users and staff feel the difference.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the West Lancashire MCISS in providing comprehensive cancer information and support services through a hub and spoke model to all residents across West Lancashire.

Main Responsibilities

The West Lancashire - Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Service is responsible for providing timely and appropriate information and support to all those affected by cancer thereby ensuring that service users are listened and responded to.

The postholder will be required to provide practical support in connecting individuals and services together at a local level thereby supporting patients in their cancer journey including undertaking assessments of holistic needs, supportive listening, care planning and where appropriate signposting to other organisations and resources.

You will have experience of working in a service user facing environment in supporting those with cancer or other long term conditions and have excellent communication and organisational skills.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
