Buyer/purchaser - Electronics

This is a contract position with a leading manufacturing company and could become a permanent position in time.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaise with production and R&D departments on procurement of new and current components
- Maintain stock levels based upon production requirements
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Source components and equivalents
- Evaluate quotes and make recommendations based on commercial/technical factors
- Negotiate and settle contracts with suppliers including pricing and monitor their progress
- Liaise with quality department to carry out vendor appraisals, including site visits to assess supplier’s facilities/premises/working practices/quality procedures

**Key Skills and Experience**
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing Supplies qualified or qualified by experience
- Broad knowledge of electronic components
- Excellent communication skills
- Sense of urgency
- Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office 365
- Good team player
- Able to work under pressure
- Self-motivated
- Hours of work: 7.45am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday - 7.45am to 12.15pm Friday_
