**Job Description**:
Have you got good attention to detail? Can you perform specified tasks in line with designated procedures?

Reporting to the Batch & Furnace Supervisor, the (Stand In) Furnace Operative will hold responsibility for maintaining a supply of glass of the quantity and quality required to meet production demands.

Stand In Technical Operative - this will be a day working post, working Monday to Friday but is required to cover shift positions for holiday/absence. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility to participate in the department Shift Rota as determined by the needs of the business.

Furnace Operative - this is a shift working position working on an 8 hour 5 crew pattern

**Specific duties of the post will include**:
Operation of our glass melting furnaces and raw material mixing facilities, including record keeping and reporting

Assisting in the maintenance of equipment relating to the above

**Qualifications**:
National 5 Maths and English (or equivalent). Ability to demonstrate practical aptitude would be an advantage.

**Competitive salary**:
Stand in - £30,237 per annum OR Furnace Operator - £ 28,098 plus £7,690 shift allowance
