My client, an educational establishment, are looking for an INTERIM Head of Marketing and School Liaison Officer. Job length unknown. Full time hours, Monday to Friday.

The post-holder is responsible for strategic leadership and management of marketing and student recruitment activities, including the development of a robust and high-quality marketing strategy that identifies how my client should build on its current position, capitalise on new digital marketing opportunities, target, and capture new markets and ensure a cohesive approach to sales and marketing.

The post-holder will play a key role in leading and managing all marketing activity and school engagement to ensure that prospective students are both informed and empowered to make great choices about their future study with my client, thereby maximising student recruitment. Working with the School Liaison Officer and colleagues from across the college you will plan and deliver school liaison events that both excite and inspire, therein supporting the Recruitment strategy.

Main Responsibilities

1. Provide leadership, expertise, and creativity in all aspects of the Marketing and School liaison activities, ensuring that all marketing objectives are aligned and foster a collaborative team environment to drive exceptional results.

2. Lead on the marketing and communication strategy, developing strong relationships with schools and other relevant agencies to support young people to make good decisions about their next steps.

3. Direct and oversee all promotions, publications, media relations, social media etc. to increase visibility, brand-awareness, reputation, and engagement, and ensure strategic marketing draws together all communication elements in a consistent way.

4. Lead, manage and motivate a dynamic team of marketing and school liaison staff, inspiring them to continuously develop, innovate and deliver outstanding customer service.

5. Develop internal and external communication and media strategies that successfully deliver information and key messages to the employees, stakeholders, and the public.

6. Coordinate the promotion of the ‘brand’ by increasing public awareness

7. To support and engage with the curriculum to develop new partnerships and relationships providing strong links with all stakeholders.

8. Focus the web and digital presence as a tool for marketing, recruitment, student services and business processes with a focus on recruitment and retention.

9. Seek to secure profitable marketing and design contracts/ services from external organisations (strategic employer partners) in accordance with policy and procedure.

10. To support in the development of an annual integrated marketing and school liaison plan, which meets the outcomes stated within the marketing and recruitment strategy.

11. Co-ordinate and support the delivery of a range of events in schools and at other external venues, including presentations to pupils and parents / carers, attendance at school parents’ evenings and internal / external careers events in the region.

13. Develop and embed a communication approach that engages and excites internal and external stakeholders, prospective students / parents and carers and alumni

15. Ensure that guidance and support to individual pupils and parents / carers as required, in-school, on the phone or on site is provided, including working with teaching teams / Student Services Team to arrange bespoke taster sessions, transition activities and individualised tours.

16. Produce effective presentations and information materials for external and internal audiences with support from colleagues and in partnership with Marketing, covering a wide range of information, advice and guidance.

17. To keep up to date with and review changes to ensure that potential students are fully up to date with courses and potential career pathways.

18. Embrace digital technology and the benefits this brings to learning and the student experience.

20. Collect data on the impact of activities and produce management reports.

25. Provide advice and support to other teams as required.
