**Salary**: £14,283 per annum for first year
**Job Purpose**:
Join our team in Newcastle as a SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) Apprentice, where you'll provide vital support to our SHE department. This role involves various administrative tasks such as data management, report writing, filing, scanning, diary management, and assisting with monthly reporting. Additionally, you'll contribute to poster campaigns, co-ordinate occupational health services, conduct site audits, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic SHE environment. You'll work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to maintaining high safety standards across our Newcastle sites.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Produce documents, reports, and presentations for the SHE team.
- Maintain and enhance office systems for the SHE department, including data management and filing.
- Manage poster campaigns across sites and distribute materials accordingly.
- Assist in coordinating occupational health services.
- Manage toolbox talks for Newcastle sites, ensuring 100% compliance.
- Conduct site SHE audits and provide audit reports.
- Manage the site yellow card system.
- Assist in completing risk assessments.
- Collate data to produce statistics and reports as required.
- Take minutes and set agendas for monthly safety meetings.
- Perform other ad hoc administrative duties as assigned.
- Ensure confidentiality of all information.
**Requirements**:
- Understanding of confidentiality issues and discretion.
- Good standard of general education, particularly GCSE/equivalent in English and Maths.
- General office skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong word processing and IT skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to research, analyze, and present material clearly and concisely.
- Honesty and reliability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
