Kitchen Porter

**Job Summary**:
**Duties**:

- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of chefs (cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items)
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, including cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading the dishwasher
- Organising Food and other items in the stock room
- Ensure kitchen floors, surfaces, walls and sinks are kept clean and sanitised
- Dispose of waste appropriately
- Cleaning the entire kitchen once closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
- Maintaining the food storage areas such as freezers and refrigerators
- Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
- Support chefs and kitchen staff as needed during busy periods

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of basic food hygiene practices is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café/restaurant setting
- Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff
- A proactive attitude to help maintain a smooth kitchen operation

Pay: £6.40-£11.44 per hour
