As a specialist, you will primarily provide operational support of **compute and storage**, including physical servers, storage arrange, SAN/ NAS, backup services as well as the cloud equivalent technologies across the entire infrastructure.You will have the opportunity to **develop your skills** in cloud technologies through working with Azure and resolving complex issues across the estate.

**Day to day responsibilities will include**:

- Perform effective Incident, problem and change management functions with regards to assigned services
- Performs day-to-day activities and checks as part of the on-going maintenance of the assigned services and that they are carried out in a timely manner
- Acts as 4th Level escalation point of contact with regards to Change, problems and incidents and see them through to resolution, managing suppliers where required.
- Escalation into suppliers as and when required
- Maintains and manages full lifecycle for compute and storage components both physical and cloud
- Performs auditing of Infrastructure both physical & cloud
- Delivery of end to end delivery of technical change. This could be in the form of Projects, Continuous Service Improvements, Enhancements, Implementations and Technical refreshes
- Ensure that effective system performance/capacity monitoring for all compute and storage services
- Management of all relevant documentation
- Participate in/host post implementation/major incident reviews

**Skills and experience required for this role**:

- Servers both Cloud based & Physical hardware
- Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMWare)
- In depth understanding of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and clustering with Hyper-V
- Firm understanding of Microsoft storage principles, clustering and technologies
- Provide Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Event Management, Monitoring and Request Fulfilment capabilities within the Infrastructure Team.
- Ability to independent take ownership of complex issues through to resolution
- Good understanding of Active Directory, DNS, GPO
- Azure storage
- Enterprise Storage Management (Netapp)
- Cloud integrated storage (including Talon)
- Backup technologies including Commvault and ASR
