**Job summary**:
We would like to recruit on a permanent basis a 35 hour, hardworking, and energetic; service focused catering assistant to join our highly motivated team. This is a exciting and rewarding position.

The duties will include: Helping the Chefs perform their tasks in the C.P.K, Thymeout and Private wing kitchens, keeping the kitchens and surrounding areas clean and tidy, following work streams & cleaning schedules. You will be expected to follow all HACCP / COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.

When required, preparing sandwiches, salads and light meals within the Community, serving and interacting with patients and clinicians. Regenerating the cook chill meals for residents and clients at the group homes. Following the same system while working within the Ward Preparation area. Serving the staff and public in the Thyme Out restaurant and Thyme out Express.

The ability to work within a team, shift flexibility and under pressure, is essential. The position can consist of heavy manual procedures and the applicant must be fit for this post, and be aware that they are to work within all areas of the Facilities Catering Department. Some of the working areas operate between -18c and +10c in the refrigerated areas and hotter temperatures in the production areas.

You must have a category A, current clean driving licence, as you may be required to travel to other catering units, at different times of the day.

This is currently a shift role, working Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. Initially this role will be based within the Jersey General Hospital, but as you are working within the catering remit, you will be required to work in any of the catering sections at any given time to meet and support the organisation.
