**Job Summary**

**Summary of Job Purpose**:

- Lavender Oaks is a beautiful new Residential Care home nestled in the heart of Surrey. We are seeking a friendly and caring individual who will become part of the home's service team providing high quality Hospitality service to all Service Users, visitors and guests.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- The main requirements of the Host or Hostess are:

- **Service**
- Prepare the Restaurant/s for all meals
- At the end of each meal in the Restaurant/s, clear and re-set tables promptly for the next meal and ensure that the Restaurant is left clean, tidy and attractively presented.
- Prepare beverage trolleys and trays and make and serve beverages to Service Users and visitors
- Prepare all trays for meals to be served to Service Users in their bedrooms; serve, collect and return to the kitchen
- Collect, wash and replenish water jugs and glasses and deliver to Service Users’ bedrooms daily
- Regularly collect trays from public areas and return to the kitchen
- At the end of the shift, put all supplies away and ensure that stock and materials are secure at all times.
- Obtain daily menus from the Chef and assist the Service Users in making their choice for meals for the following day (where applicable) and inform the Chef accordingly
- Ensure the Restaurant is maintained with stocks of clean crockery, cutlery, glassware and table linen to ensure mínimal delays when re-setting
- Ensure that the satellite kitchens are re-stocked daily and that cupboards and fridges are clean and tidy
- Prepare the Private Dining Room for meals or refreshments when required; clear and re-set
- Ensure the Coffee Station in the Reception Area is cleaned and restocked at the start of each day**Hygiene**:

- Maintain high standards of hygiene as per Company policy and outlined in the Food Safety Manual
- Ensure your uniform is clean and worn at all times and complies with Company policy

**Care Standards and Quality Assurance**
- Protect all Service Users from abuse and report any concerns as per Company policies and procedures
- Show courtesy and respect to Service Users at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of life, and respect the confidentiality of Services Users and their families at all times.
- Value the life experience and knowledge of Service Users, showing them courtesy and respect, observing their privacy and protecting their dignity at all times.
- Respect each Service User as an individual, treating them equally and valuing their cultural and social diversity

**Customer Care**
- Greet all visitors in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner and promote the Company and your home, positively at all times in the local community
- Communicate effectively with Service Users, their relatives/friends, other staff and external visitors to the Home and deal sensitively with their concerns
- Keep personal knowledge and job skills up-to-date to ensure that Service Users receive the best possible standards of service

**Health and Safety**
- Carry out all duties in a safe manner having regard to the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, Service Users and other persons within Porthaven Care Homes
- Ensure that you have read and understood, and at all times comply with, all relevant Company policies and procedures and all relevant statutory responsibilities including Fire arrangements, Health & Safety issues including moving and handling, COSHH regulations, maintaining records diligently and accurately as required

**Generic Core Duties**
- Positively promote the Home and Porthaven through personal conduct both within and outside working hours
- Ensure that you have read and understood all relevant company policies and procedures and that you comply with these at all times
- Attend and participate in all training sessions and staff meetings as required
- Maintain good working relationships with all colleagues at all times
- Undertake any other reasonable instruction from the Chef or Home Manager, which is within your area of competence.
