Extrusion Setter

**Manthorpe Building Products** is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.

**Role**:To carry out various different tasks on a day to day basis within the production and extrusion department when required.

**Responsibilities**:

- To set extrusion tools on various machines and achieve high quality parts at the optimum cycle time.
- Carry out scheduled tool changes quickly, efficiently, and effectively to minimise changeover times and machine downtime.
- Connecting services and various ancillaries to extrusion tools.
- To set alignment parameters for extrusion tools.
- Monitoring cycle times against target cycle times on a regular basis, ensuring deviations are identified and rectified in a timely manner.
- Learning basic tool and machine maintenance as part of a wider preventative maintenance plan.
- To work to the daily issued production plan without supervision. This could require the Setter to start or stop a line, tool change the line to a different job, or carry out a colour change.
- To be able to set up the extrusion machine to meet the required standards. This may include making changes to the program on the machine.
- Changing and replenishing raw materials, refilling hopper loaders and day bins as required.
- Reporting any tooling faults and filling in the correct paperwork to record quality or tooling issues which are encountered for further investigation work to be carried out.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience within an Extrusion Setter role / environment
- Excellent understanding of mechanical devices.
- Worked in a formal, continuous improvement environment
- Ability to understand and use all workshop machinery.
- A positive work ethic and enthusiastic approach to activities undertaken.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- High quality of work standards and a keen eye for detail.
- A 'can do' attitude, with a collaborative approach.
- **The working hours for this role are 3 rotating shifts Monday - Friday covering the hours of 6:00am-2:30pm, 2:00pm-10:30pm, 10:00pm-6:30am.**_
- **The rate of pay is £13.71 per hour including shift allowance.**_
