**We are now looking for a Transport Supervisor to join our fast paced Transport Team in Hardwicke, Gloucester. Are you**:

- A good communicator (Face to face, and over the phone)

- Able to resolve un-planned issues effectively
- Have good working knowledge of WTD and all legal requirements
- Able to promote and ensure all Operator Licence undertakings and legislation is complied to at all times

**Then we are looking for you**

So, the important bit, what does the role involve:

- Complete efficient route planning to fit in with customer requirements
- Performance Management / Continuous improvement
- Open factory (if not already open), deal with any alarms and report to the relevant people.
- Put collection notes up onto the clipboards (if there are any)
- Open the bay doors for the HGV drivers, make sure the loads are secure and the delivery tickets are ready to hand.
- Open door to the yard
- Sort paperwork/keys/fob/phone for agency drivers, explaining to them what is required and eventually completing inductions with new agency staff.
- Check and load deliveries onto couriers (if we have any)
- Supervise yard, helping drivers change bulbs/oil
- Deal with any unplanned issues, (vehicle breakdowns, vehicle defects) speaking to garages if needs be to sort quick repairs so the truck can still go out that day. Making the judgement call if a vehicle is un-road worthy and will need to be kept off road for repairs.
- Dealing with drivers phoning in sick and finding replacements/working out best solution.
- Carry out deliveries as required following morning supervision of delivery staff

**Continuous Improvement**
- Work closely with the Despatch Team Leader to share best practice and identify and implement solutions for process and people improvements across the Despatch Department as a whole.
- Act as a role model for the Company’s vision and values and respect the opinions and ideas of other team members.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments to ensure alignment of the team with current and future business trends
- Engaging with Staff to create a culture of self-improvement and autonomy from within.
- Celebrating and rewarding successes.

**Health and Safety**
- Understand and take responsibility of Health and Safety in your daily roles
- Carry out daily tasks within Health and Safety guidelines and procedures set out.
- Identify and report any Health and Safety issues to your line manager.
- Actively promote and supervise Health and Safety best practice within the delivery team.
- Proactive approach to Risk Assessments, annual reviews, Safe Systems of Work and instant investigation.

**Group Standards**
- Engage fully with all Group Standards including ISO18001, 14001 & 9001.
- Drive improvements within all Group Standards
- Develop and nurture staff ensuring they understand Group Standards and fully embrace them.
