**UASC Caseworker**

**Working 36 hours per week**

**Fixed-term until 31 December 2023**

**£ 24,720-£25,750 per annum pro rata**

Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre (CRMC) is the only organisation in Coventry dedicated to providing impartial and confidential advice, guidance and support to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants living in and around the city. We are a local, medium-sized organisation which has been welcoming refugees and migrants since 2000. Our aim is to help people to rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential in safety and dignity whilst supporting integration and encouraging active citizenship.

We currently have a very exciting vacancy for a **UASC** [**U*naccompanied **A**sylum-**S**eeking **C**hildren] **Caseworker*. The position is part funded by the European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund. “Making management of migration flows more efficient across the European Union”.

The role requires an individual who can improve outcomes for UASC in Coventry and to help them integrate into life in the UK.

The post holder will be required to work with UASC on a one-to-one basis to identify and address any problems and barriers to integration their clients may be facing. To do this, the post holder will provide advice, guidance and pastoral support and work with other local agencies, referring where necessary to different support services and activities.

The post holder will have experience of working with UASC clients, experience of working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies and experience of providing effective safeguarding support and guidance. Furthermore, the post holder will be able to professional, positive, and functional relationships with children and young people and to represent or advocate on behalf of UASC clients. Additionally, the post holder will have an excellent understanding of the needs of UASC clients and of current safeguarding and child and adult protection legislation.

**Salary**: £24,720.00-£25,750.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- COVENTRY: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- social work: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- HCPC (preferred)
