Document Controller

We are looking for a **External Document Controller **to join our **Contracts** team based in **Billingham**. This is a **full-time, permanent role**, and in return you will receive a **competitive salary plus benefits.**
**Paralloy Ltd** is situated in the UK and has 3 sites - Billingham, Middlesbrough, and Sheffield. The business has a worldwide presence and is a major supplier to the petrochemical market. **About the External Document Controller role**:
As our Document Controller, you will produce technical documentation dossiers to clients specifications and ensure they are returned with their confirmation.
Additionally, we expect you to advise, recommend and lead the implementation and move away from a hard copy delivery system to an electronic DCC system. Within the internal and external DCC environment.
You’ll be working under the responsibility of the Contract Manager.
**Key responsibilities of our External Document Controller will include**:
- Understanding and interpreting client documentation requirements
- Control the flow of documents within the organisation and maintain registers and logs demonstrating latest revisions and deliveries.
- Check, register and edit incoming documents from internal sources (such as drawings, quality plans ) and prepare for external distribution.
- Collating test certificates, WPS/PQR, drawings, radiographic reports, NDT reports, PED documentation and complete documentation dossiers.
- Inputing specification and test results clients’ feedbacks onto the production management system on a daily basis.
- The ability to liaise with all departments to generate and then issue the required documentation.
- Liaising with visiting inspectors in finalisation of documentation packs.
**What we’re looking for in our Document Controller**:
- Previous experience of documentation control (min 5 years) or similar role.
- Familiarity with project management.
- Knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
- Experience in the manufacturing industry would be advantageous.
- Competent working with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
- Highly organised and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workloads.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues and quality rules.
