**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**

We also provide direct work with children by way of psychological assessments, one to one therapy and groupwork for children who live within Greenleaf Homes. The assistant psychologist would work under the direct supervision from the Head of Psychology.

**Main duties**:

- Support therapeutic assessment and formulation of all young people to aid the development of care planning, risk management planning.
- Provide support for staff teams to undertake specific therapeutic interventions with young people (e.g., how to undertake emotional regulation work, developing healthy relationships, managing sexually harmful behaviour, psychoeducation on trauma ).
- Facilitating therapeutic groupwork (e.g., mellow ready, zones of regulation and seasons for growth, violence is not the only choice).
- Observe and participate in psychometric and other clinical / forensic assessments.
- Undertake therapeutic psychoeducation 1:1 work with young people.
- Undertake monthly psychological consultations with residential and educational practitioners within your area (This can be any factor relating to presenting behaviour of young people or support for the staff teams with an emphasis on attachment theory and trauma informed practice).
- Attending relevant professional meetings to support staff teams or young people you are directly or indirectly working with.
- Undertake research / audit on factors relevant for demonstrating effective therapeutic residential childcare (e.g., offending behaviour, exploitation, compassion fatigue, increase or reduction in placement stability, etc ).
- Engage in individual and group supervision.
- Work within own competencies and undertake observations of new tasks as well as training and supervision until able to work independently across all four competencies.
- Support the commissioning team and registered managers in matching children to placements.

**Requirements: Qualifications, Skills & Experience**
- Degree qualified in Psychology (2:1 or above).
- Completed or in the process of completing MSc Forensic Psychology (optional).
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work within a team and be motivated and able to be a lone worker.

**Competencies**:

- Qualitative and quantitative research as driven by the needs of the company.
- Providing psychological knowledge.
- Identifying, developing, facilitating and evaluating training.
