Paediatric Dietitian

We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our growing team in NHS Forth Valley (FV). This post is suitable for a newly qualified dietitian or a dietitian looking to gain experience in paediatric dietetics.

The Forth Valley Paediatric service includes inpatient and outpatient work and includes specialist clinical areas of cystic fibrosis, diabetes, coeliac disease, IBD, renal, enteral feeding and allergy.

Forth Valley Paediatric Dietetics offers excellent experience within a small supportive team of band 7, band 6 and band 5 dietitians who are part of a large team of acute and community dietitians. The paediatric service also benefits from the support of band 3 dietetic assistants and administrators.

Experience in paediatrics is highly desirable but not essential as training and development will be given. The post holder must have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to deliver high quality education, be committed to personal development and be a strong team player.

The paediatric service is based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital but the post-holder may deliver some services from Stirling Community Hospital with the potential for some remote working.

This post offers a rare and exciting opportunity for training and development of the post holder, in this clinical speciality.

The Forth Valley clinical dietetic team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals and within Community Services. This post will be part of a team of 33 dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities e.g. critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team. All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary provide some cover to other parts of the service, including the department duty service.
