**Finance/Payroll Assistant**

Gateway is looking for a Finance/Payroll assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position reporting to the Finance Manager.

If you are a dynamic and enthusiastic person and feel you have the ability/experience to fulfil this role, then this could be the position for you.

To be successful in this role, you should have a Finance or Accounting background and have a good understanding of payroll. Be competent on Excel and Word. Working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage 50 Payroll would be preferable.

**The Duties of the Financial/Payroll Assistant**

**Finance**:
Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Cashbooks, Petty Cash

Bank Reconciliations and Payment runs

Management Accounts to Draft level, Balance Sheet reconciliations

**Payroll**:
In order to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of processing a monthly payroll from start to finish. You should have a good understanding of UK PAYE legislation and a good understanding of how to calculate deductions such as overpayments, maternity, sickness payments, Tax and National Insurance.

Any ad hoc tasks requested by Management.

Ultimately, you will ensure we process all financial/payroll transactions accurately and on time.

An HNC/HND in Administration/Business/Finance would be desirable.

Full-time 37.5 hours

Monday to Friday

**Salary**: Dependent on experience and qualifications.
